Lucy was putting her silver sparkly shoes under her pillow when she went to sleep, but now they've been replaced by the pink plastic princess dress up shoes she got for Christmas from Abby.

We've been doing the Jesse Tree Advent with Lucy, so we had a Christmas Eve service at home with all of the cousins and sang "Happy Birthday" and blew out 24 candles.

"The Green Pinch" according to Lucy

Since she's a big girl (and loves music), we dressed up and took Lucy to see "The Grinch" with the big kids. She loved it. She clapped. She called him "the green pinch."

Lucy gave all of her pacis to Henry...

(because only babies use pacis, and Lucy is a big girl)

... and the next day at lunch she prayed, "Pray for Baby Henry and Henry's pacis and for all the pacis to go to the babies and for Henry feel better and for Layla and Justin and Robby and Amy and for Mommy's drink and for Lucy taste Mommy's drink and taste like water and sandwich in triangles. Amen."

The doctor put her on her tummy and said she was doing well and would roll anytime now. He picked up his pen to write in her chart, and she rolled over.

(When Abby woke up crying, Lucy ran into her room saying, "Me help Abby!" I walked in a minute later with Lucy in Abby's crib.)


- "I wanna take a nap with Abby."
- "I don't want to brush my teeth. I want to read my Bible."
- "I don't want to brush my hair because because because because because... me good and me fun."
- (Whispering to Bryan) "I want to tell you a secret. I love my Baby Sister Abby."
- Eraina: "Night, night, Lucy. I love you." (Hug)
Lucy: "I love you, Mommy." (Hugs my neck).
Eraina: "I got stuck!"
Lucy: "Stuck in Lucy's hug!!!"
(Repeat at least 5 times.)
- Lucy to Bryan: "First, do bear puzzle. Then hide. Then sing 4 songs [on the microphone]. Then read book. THEN go to bed."
- This is the order for doing the bear puzzle: First Bryan has to sit in the chair at Lucy's mini table. Then she hangs her purse over the chair where she's sitting. Bear sits in the rocking chair. Babydoll sits on the table, and then you can proceed with turning over the bear puzzle pieces.

And when we go somewhere, she likes to say, "I NEED sump'n." On this trip she needed her big pink purse with Bear and another purse inside, the wood chess set, and a feather boa.

I was packing all of us to go out of town. Lucy was simultaneously packing about 10 bags. I only let her take one. She chose her pink rolling backpack that was stuffed with every pair of shoes she's ever owned along with a microphone.

Do it myself

Lucy no longer needs my help picking out dresses and accessories. I walked in on this. She completely dressed herself.
