Outside
Lucy likes to collect roly polies and put them in her blue sparkly purse. Abby LOVES jumping on the trampoline. Lucy stopped (on the climb into the trampoline) and proclaimed, "Mom! Our garden is soooo beautiful!". [Those are weeds, honey]

Bedtime
Abby thinks she's too big for her crib. Tonight was the best from all the ones we've tried this week. Lucy asked me to leave when we put Abby with her, and they were both asleep in less than a minute.

Sloan Christmas
This year was our family's turn to read the Christmas story (Luke 2). Bryan prepped Lucy to say the "Glory to God in the highest" line. When it came time, he pointed to her and Lucy happily said, "Glory to Noah!" We all laughed. She tried again. "Glory in the highest of the Lord!"

The Sweetest Thing
Lucy and Jane were playing "Mommy."
Jane: "I'll be the mommy"
Lucy: "I'll be the Daddy, and you be the sweetheart."
Jane: "I'll be the mommy"

Last Day
We visited Bryan at work on his last day before celebrating at Chick-Fil-A (or "chickalay" as Lucy pronounces it) for dinner.

(We were driving into Chick-Fil-A and Lucy said, "Mommy. I see Chickalay. He says 'Ucy come play.'")

Cold on your leg?
Sometimes when you're working in the kitchen, Lucy likes to pull frozen teething toys and the Cinderella ice pack out of the freezer, put it on you and ask, "Is it cold on your leg??"

SLL Birthday
Psalm 145
1 I will exalt you, my God and King,
and praise your name forever and ever.
2 I will praise you every day;
yes, I will praise you forever.
3 Great is the Lord! He is most worthy of praise!
No one can measure his greatness.
4 Let each generation tell its children of your mighty acts;
let them proclaim your power.
5 I will meditate on ... your wonderful miracles.
8 The Lord is merciful and compassionate,
slow to get angry and filled with unfailing love.
9 The Lord is good to everyone.
He showers compassion on all his creation.
10 All of your works will thank you, Lord,
and your faithful followers will praise you.
11 They will speak of the glory of your kingdom;
they will give examples of your power.
13 For your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom.
You rule throughout all generations.
The Lord always keeps his promises;
he is gracious in all he does.
14 The Lord helps the fallen
and lifts those bent beneath their loads.
15 The eyes of all look to you in hope
18 The Lord is close to all who call on him
21 I will praise the Lord,
and may everyone on earth bless his holy name
forever and ever.

The need for mittens
When it's 100 degrees Fahrenheit outside and you're eating an ice cream sandwich, you wear mittens because:
(a) the patio furniture is too hot to touch
(b) the ice cream is too cold on your hands
(c) the ice cream sandwich gets your fingers too messy
(d) all of the above
