Home of the Fighting Lorena Leopards

Lorena, TX - 1987 State 2A Football Champs.

Lucy and I took a road trip to Austin, TX to meet up with Bryan at Lost Pines.  Bryan was on a work retreat, so we joined in...  Of course we think Lucy loves the water.  We went swimming everyday and floated the lazy river.  She seemed to enjoy it and was taking it all in.  Anywhoooo, on our way to Austin we drove through my hometown, Lorena, TX, and you won't believe it, but.... they just got a Sonic.  Lorena has really grown; they were 3A when I graduated.  I went to school 1st through 12th grade there... Lorena Elementary School, Lorena Middle School, Lorena High School... you get the picture.  We had 1 grocery store (Jordans), 1 post office, 1 - no I take it back - 2 gas stations, a steakhouse, a Baptist church (my hometown church FBC Lorena also pictured here) and a Methodist Church, a mechanic, and a store in the plaza with Jordans that was usually a restaurant (a really good homecooking place - thank you Juanita), a video store or a hair salon.  We lived in a blue house with a red roof and a big yard.  We loved it.  It just goes to show you don't have to have a lot to have a lot of fun.  We used to drive all the way to Hewitt or Waco for Sonic so this is a big deal.  Sic 'Em Red.

First Airport Trip

Lucy did great on her first airplane ride.  She smiled and slept both directions for which we (and the people sitting next to us) were very thankful.  We flew to Houston to visit SueSue and Pops and had lots of fun hanging out at the house, eating Mom's (SueSue) cooking and going on walks.

Kung Fu Panda

Right or wrong... we took Lucy to her first movie (she slept in the car seat at our feet on the aisle).

Aunt Charissa

Back-Tummy-Back-Tummy

She started on the blanket on her back, and then rolled 2 full circles.  This is how (where) she finished.

Best Laugh and Toe Grabs

The Pacifier

Lucy is good at taking the pacifier out of her mouth, but it's a little tougher to get it back in the right direction.

Memorial Day Weekend

Wakeboarded, played, ate hamburgers, and Lucy rolled from her tummy onto her back.

So little time, so much to do

Lucy's favorite thing to do on the ExerSaucer is to roll the chicken rattler.  Even though it's a loud noise and she has to close her eyes, she still wants more and keeps on rolling...  She can't stop herself.

Her First Haircut

And I do think it was one hair that was cut... a straggler behind her ear :)
